What to Expect

You will collaborate with other software engineers to develop Tesla’s internal tools for managing the design, permitting, and installation of energy products and systems. This team is dedicated to developing a robust and scalable platform that can be extended and configured for all Tesla Energy and Vehicle products marketed and supported today, as well as those that will be released in the future. 

What You’ll Do

• Design, create, and support applications and systems within the team’s scope.
• Writing clean, maintainable, performant, and well-tested code to incorporate new features and fix errors.
• Write unit and integration tests, and collaborate with QA to arrange timely regression for new features.
• Monitor the live system metrics, respond to alarms, and troubleshoot production issues.
• Investigate and comprehend existing system technical functioning, and offer technical enhancements.
• Work with product, design, and business stakeholders to plan and prioritize new feature development.
• Communicate changes in project estimates, dependencies, and barriers to affected stakeholders rapidly.
• Own feature development and projects from design to testing to production.
• Understand and enhance the scalability, maintainability, availability, and visibility of applications.
• Document the newly implemented technology and application features.

What You’ll Bring

• A degree in computer science or a related discipline, or comparable experience
• A thorough understanding of fundamental web technologies such as HTTP, REST, AJAX, and JSON.  Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/ES6, including DOM manipulation and the JS object model.
• Strong comprehension of database principles, especially how to query and update SQL databases.
• A thorough understanding of REST principles and best practices for developing and using RESTful APIs
• A thorough understanding of React’s key design concepts and common design patterns
• Experience with common front-end development tools such as Vite, NPM, and Yarn.
• Experience with GraphQL is a major plus.
